The Great British Beach Clean with Amber House
To celebrate the beginning of 2023’s Great British Beach Clean week, the team at Amber House organised our very own beach cleanup. Being based in the Southeast of England, we are just a stone’s throw away from the coast, so we rolled up our sleeves and headed down to our local beach to help clear up the large amounts of litter that ends up polluting our coastlines and oceans.
Last year across the UK, the Marine Conservation Society measured 30 miles of coastline was cleaned during this week with an average of nearly 400 items found per 100 meters. We ended up collecting multiple bags of rubbish filled with bottle tops, plastic packaging and wrappers that would otherwise harm our marine ecosystem, so it’s great to be a part of this initiative this year.
Aside from the joy of getting some fresh morning sea air, it was brilliant to be a part of this important movement and to see the positive impact our team could have in just a few hours. Thank you to the team at Amber House for all joining in and making a great difference to our coastlines.
